So What If I Cut - November 08, 2013 from 9 am till Noon

Join Michelle Nietert, LPC-S, clinical director of Community Counseling Associates and previous crisis counselor for a local suburban school district as we address self harm and the dynamics surrounding this issue for many adolescents and some adults. This presentation will address common causes of this behavior, underlying emotional pain and common associated diagnoses such as depression and anxiety, self esteem and the role it plays in self harm, and social and family dynamics. Attendees will also receive a large number of specific interventions including coping skills to use with this population. The presentation will end with providing additional resources for both clients and professionals and a time for questions and answers.
