The staff at Community Counseling Associates have carefully chosen the below listed assessments to aid you in understanding and treatment during the counseling process.  These assessments fees cannot stand alone but must be administered in conjunction with scheduled counseling sessions and a treatment plan.  Rarely do our staff require an assessment unless writing a formal report but we wanted you to be aware of these instruments and how they may be of benefit.  If you would like to purchase an assessment package, please call 214-509-6888.
Slosson Intelligence Screening Test - a quick and reliable individual screening test of Crystallized Verbal Intelligence.
Age 3 to 65 (click here for more information)  This assessment can be administered on location at a preschool (a minimum of 5 children must have purchased an assessment) and the results discussed with a parent on location at a later date.

Copeland Symptom Checklist for Attention Deficit Disorders (ADD/ADHD) - Child and Adolescent Version

(Must be given in conjunction with counseling.  This fee includes a copy of the scored assessment that can be taken to a school or medical professional. If a formal followup report with diagnosis and recommendations for 504 or classroom interventions are requested an additional 1/2 hour fee at the chosen counselor's rate would apply)

Designed to help educators and health care professionals assess whether a child or adolescent has symptoms characteristic of attention deficit disorder, to what degree, and which areas of functioning are most seriously affected. The checklist covers ten areas, including: Inattention/Distractibility, Impulsivity, Activity Level Problems, Noncompliance, Attention-Getting Behavior, Immaturity, Poor Achievement/Cognitive & Visual-Motor Problems, Emotional Difficulties, Poor Peer Relations, and Family Interaction Problems. Scoring instructions included.

SASSI - The Substance Abuse Subtle Screening Inventory

The Substance Abuse Subtle Screening Inventory (SASSI) is a brief, easily administered psychological questionnaire. It is available in both adult and adolescent versions, as well as versions for diverse cultures, including those with disabilities & voc rehab. participants.
The SASSI can identify people who may have a Substance Use Disorder with a high degree of accuracy – even when someone is reluctant to self-disclose.

Wired That Way                   
Age 12+      
Cost $5.00 (must be given in conjunction with counseling)

This assessment is used for teens and adults to determine basic temperament and personality strengths and weaknesses which can be helpful in understanding one’s self and how he/she may interact in relationships including romantic, family and workplace situations.  Wired that Way is a brief assessment and counselors will provide additional resources for further study during the session.  Wired That Way is based on the four basic temperaments that are used in other assessments such as the Myers-Briggs, DISC, Colors,  Personality Animals (Smalley and Trent).
