Community Counseling Associates
At Community Counseling Associates, our goal is to empower our clients to make life changes. Many of our clients also share a Christian belief system that they want honored in this process. We want to work with you to see God at work in your life and lives of those you love.
Our style is relaxed, nurturing, and directive. We counsel individuals, children, adolescents, and their families. We encourage you to explore our site as you look for the person and training that fits your needs best.
We approach counseling from a Solution Focused, Cognitive Behavioral, Choice Based philosophy, but still believe that change often occurs best in an experiential manner. Therefore, we incorporate Art and Play Therapy. We also work with our clients to create treatment plans that address the entire self and all its aspects including the physical, mental, social, spiritual, and emotional dynamics of life.
Experience and training make a difference! We understand selecting the right counselor can be an overwhelming decision. When looking at counselors and interns, it is important to evaluate their supervisor’s expertise and training. Community Counseling Associates began in 1997 and Michelle Nietert, LPC-S, our clinical director has over 20 years of counseling experience in private practice and has worked in school, agency, and hospital settings. She also teaches Marriage and Family Counseling at a local college. All of our staff attend weekly training, using books and/or videos to make them well equipped to empower you to create a productive life changing growth/treatment plan. Counselors practicing in the areas of marriage/premarital counseling, addiction, and play therapy are also required to document additional training in these areas.
We work as a professional community so you get more - knowledge, solutions, and support. We offer a collaborative approach for clients and can work as a treatment team to provide you and your family the best care possible.
We offer assessments to assist with helping you gain more insight into current emotions and behaviors including ADD/ADHD assessments, personality profiles, behavior checklists, premarital and marriage assessments, and addiction inventories.
