Undergraduate Student Internship

Community Counseling Associates offers an internship program to qualified undergraduate university students who are interested in the counseling field. We have internship positions available in the Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters.

Who We Are

Community Counseling Associates is a Solution-Focused, Cognitive Behavioral counseling center ranging from children to adults. Our director, Michelle Nietert, has more than twenty years of private practice experience. We offer individual, marital, pre-marital, couple, family, art, and play therapies for issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, divorce, eating disorders, addiction, ADHD, etc.

What We Offer

We offer our student interns the opportunity to experience private practice at our center. We also offer the opportunity to join our weekly staff meetings to hear case discussions and to observe how a private practice is run. With therapist and client authorization, student interns are given the chance to sit in and observe client sessions. However, this cannot be guaranteed and is up to the discretion of the client and therapist. The center's developed counselor library and resources are available for use during the internship.

Internship Expectations

Student interns are expected to maintain a professional appearance at our front desk. Dress code is business casual. Student interns will greet clients and offer them water, ensuring they fill out the correct paperwork. General office duties will include light office work, restocking office supplies, and running errands if needed. Interns are required to attend our weekly clinical supervisions. These are every Monday from 10:00-12:00 or 12-1:15 (depending on the week) -- please make sure you have availability at that time.

How to Apply

Please fill out the application and email our Executive Administrator, Emily Martin, at admin@allencounselingassociates.com. Please reach out to Emily if you have any questions.
