Treatment Approaches
Through various approaches, including family and couples therapy, solution-focused therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy, Trent helps individuals obtain the necessary tools to reach the goals they have for themselves. Some of the issues that Trent treats include relationship issues, depression, anxiety, grief, men's issues, life adjustments, addiction, anger, assertiveness, and trauma.
Education and Training
Trent is currently working towards his master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University. Prior to that, Trent earned his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice at Texas A&M University. Trent is also certified in Gottman’s Couples Therapy. Trent is a member of the American Counseling Association and the Texas Counseling Association.
Background and Experience
Trent has been helping people in crisis as a first responder for over 25 years and has had a front row seat to seeing the effects of the trauma and struggles that many people in the local community face every day. He wishes to transform his unique experience to continue to help others through therapy.
Trent has been married for 13 years to a wonderful woman who is not only the love of his life but also his best friend. He is a “girl dad” of three beautiful girls who own his heart and keep him young. He loves traveling, watching sports, and spending time with his family and friends.
Personal Statement
As an intern counselor at Community Counseling Associates, I aim to provide a welcoming therapeutic environment. Therapy is about meeting the client where they are and working with individuals collaboratively. It is about feeling heard and safe as we unfold each unique experience. It is a chance to tell your story your way without any interruptions or edits in a non-judgmental space. It is about becoming self-aware and working hard to create the best version of yourself. It is about gaining some control back and feeling empowered to reach your goals. It is not linear and is very much a journey. We often feel stuck in our lives and don't know how to get back on course. As a Christian counselor, I would like to collaborate with you to get back on a meaningful path and move to the center of God's purpose for your life.
