Counseling Approach
Jaclyn is passionate about helping young adults who deal with anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship/boundary issues. She uses a cognitive-behavioral approach with her clients and would love to provide Christian counseling upon request.
Jaclyn seeks to provide a loving, safe, open and trustworthy relationship with her clients. She loves to listen and will meet you where you are, but not leave you there. She is there to walk with you through anything and work together to achieve your goals. She uses approaches based on her client's needs, and considers the client's childhood, biological and psychological factors, social stressors, cultural factors, and strengths and weaknesses in order to gain a fuller picture of who she is working with. From there, she utilizes Adlerian, DBT, CBT, Existentialist, Gestalt, and Solution-Focused interventions to reach her client's goals.
Education and Training
Jaclyn earned her bachelor's degree in Human Relation from the University of Oklahoma. She holds a Masters in Christian Education from Dallas Theological Seminary and is working to complete her Masters in Counseling in 2023.
Background and Experience
Jaclyn worked in college ministry with Cru at Southern Methodist University and the University of Texas at Dallas prior to counseling. She is a part of a local church and leads a 9th grade small group with her husband.
Jaclyn is married to her husband, Jaryd, and has a five-year-old stepson named Bennett. She loves running, traveling, hanging out with her family and friends, and baking chocolate chip cookies.
Personal Statement
I truly love what I do and hearing about whatever you are going through. Counseling can be intimidating, but I don't want it to be. Counseling, alongside the gospel, changed my life and I hope it will change yours, too! I want you to feel seen and heard during our sessions as you walk into a fuller, more abundant life.
