Mental Healthcare, Insurance and Counseling
In order to provide affordable care, many of our counselors choose to participate in network with health insurance companies. All of us will work with you to help you file on your out of network benefits. While many are attracted to the cost effectiveness of using insurance for counseling, there are some disadvantages. Two of the greatest are that a mental health diagnosis will be required and it must accurately reflect treatment and privacy. While we at CCA are committed to adhering to the best HIPAA practices, after we release your information, that information now becomes part of you medical records much of which is now electronic.
Counselors who accept insurance as in network providers adhere to contracted rates but insurance coverage of sessions is never guaranteed and non covered sessions will be billed at the therapist's published out of network rate. Clients also must qualify and receive a mental health diagnosis. Clients choosing insurance also become financially responsible for previous sessions if audits occur and they fail to meet medical necessity. If you are looking for Christian coaching on a national level, please let your counselor know to see if that service can be provided. After the director, counselors are listed by number of sessions currently available and seniority with CCA.

Many of our counselors who don't accept insurance will work with you to obtain a fee close to your copay. You may wish to contact you insurance provider and inquire about mental health benefits before selecting a counselor. Couples counseling is rarely covered under mental health insurance.
All licensed staff (LPCs) are happy to provide you with a receipt to file for out of network benefits.
