Treatment Approaches
Taylor focuses on teens and adults and desires to collaborate with clients to find hope and healing, break harmful patterns, and instill confidence for life’s challenges and seasons. She focuses on anxiety, depression, life transitions, family conflict, and
relationship challenges. She is especially passionate about helping new moms navigate pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood as they adjust to new challenges and emotions.
Every person has a unique story, background, and point of view, and Taylor approaches everyone with empathy, compassion, and a desire to understand. She is committed to ensuring everyone who walks through her door feels safe, comfortable, and heard. She works with each client to identify the most effective strategies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Existential Therapy, Mindfulness, and, for those interested, faith-based or expressive arts exercises.
Education and Training
Taylor holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Communications with minors in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Truman State University. She is finishing her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Colorado Christian University. She is a member of the American Counseling Association and the Texas Counseling Association.
Background and Experience
Before entering the counseling field, Taylor worked in hiring and recruiting for eight years and had the privilege of helping individuals discover their giftings and talents and grow in their unique roles. After the birth of her second child, she left the workforce to stay home with her kids full-time. After personally experiencing healing through counseling while walking through challenging postpartum seasons and difficult family dynamics, she decided to pursue counseling as a second career. Her desire is to walk alongside others and allow her experience and story to guide the hurting towards hope and healing.
Personal Statement
Each individual should experience empathy, kindness, and intentionality, and I am honored to provide a safe space for others to be seen and heard. I have witnessed the powerful healing that can come from therapy. It is a gift to offer hope and understanding to those who feel stuck, lost, or helpless.
I have been married for ten years and have three young kids, ages 5, 3, and 1. When I’m not wrangling kids, I love to read, test new recipes, drink good coffee, try out creative classes on Groupon, and catch up on reality TV.
