Counseling Approach
Tara enjoys working with children, adolescents, couples and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, parenting, relationships and major life decisions.  Tara uses various counseling approaches based on client's needs which include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Play Therapy, Journaling and more.  Tara hopes to build positive relationships with her clients by listening empathetically without judgement, allowing her clients to feel seen and heard, promoting growth and healing.

Education and Training
Tara has earned her bachelor's degree in Art from Abilene Christian University, and is currently working towards her master's degree in professional counseling from West Texas A&M. Tara is also a certified Love and Logic facilitator.

Background and Experience
Tara has several years experience as an educator working with children of all ages including teaching preschool, elementary and high school at local school districts. She also volunteers with the children's ministry at her local church.
During her time as an educator and working with children and adolescents, her continued interest in human development, parenting and trauma grew. Tara also discovered a passion for deep meaningful conversations and the joy of helping individuals process their thoughts and feelings allowing them to reach a healthier state of mind, boundaries and relationships.

Tara has been married to her husband for 19 years and has three daughters, ages 16, 12 and 9. In her spare time she likes to spend time with her family, travel and work on home improvement projects.

Personal Statement
I believe that everyone is fearfully and wonderfully made. Everyone has a story and sometimes it is necessary to have someone walk alongside you and help you process your story. Sometimes it is hard to put feelings into words and see past the current struggle, or issue but that is what I am here for. I enjoy providing a safe space for you to share your stories and help you feel empowered to make life changing decisions to a better you. I would love to be apart of your journey.
