Counseling Approach
Robin enjoys working with clients from pre-school age to young adulthood.  Robin believes in meeting a child where they are, prioritizing unconditional positive regard, acceptance, cultural humility, and authenticity while helping them build the skills needed to be successful in life.  She believes growth occurs when a person feels valued, heard, and respected.  When it comes to treatment, she believes in ensuring that each treatment style is based on the individual client needs.  Robin uses multiple techniques, such as mindfulness, self-reflection cues, bibliotherapy, and journaling as ways to increase self-awareness of thoughts and emotions.  Robin integrates Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) in her sessions and her goal is to have the client see progress in a timely manner.

Education and Training
Bachelor's degree in Psychology - University of Texas - Dallas
Master's in Counseling from Texas A&M - Commerce
During her time at both UTD and Texas A&M, she has taken additional classes in play therapy, filial therapy, child development, group counseling, and crisis counseling.

Background and Experience
Robin has worked in public education for 19 years, 16 years as a school counselor, and 3 years as a teacher.  She has worked with students from Pre-K through 18 years old.  During her time as an educator, she has helped students with a variety of struggles such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, OCD, ODD, grief, addiction, trauma, and divorce.  We build reliance by developing foundational skills such as emotional regulation, self-awareness, social awareness, and relationship management.  She takes pride in being empathetic, compassionate, and an advocate for every child.  She takes pride in building a true partnership with her clients to help them achieve their goals.
