Counseling Approach
Lauren is passionate about working with children (5+), adults and families. She specializes in areas such as, anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, behavior and skills development, life transitions, grief/loss, relationships and boundaries, elder care/aging and spiritual issues. Experienced in working with a range of development life stages and in diverse environments, Lauren is competent and adaptable to assist you with a personal approach tailored to your needs. Lauren generally adheres to the school of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Play Therapy; however, she utilizes other approaches as well to ensure appropriate services are provided. Lauren is willing to provide Christian Counseling services, upon request. Lauren also provides parent consultations and support for ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder and behavior development.
Background & Experience
Lauren received a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Missouri. In her past experience working as a Behavioral Specialist, a Child Life Specialist Associate, an educator and childcare provider she seized opportunities to work with individuals from birth through the lifespan, educating, supporting, equipping and advocating for each individuals’ needs. Through this work she felt called to pursue Counseling and received her Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Amberton University. Lauren trained under the BACB with experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). She is a Licensed Professional Counselor- Intern under the state of Texas, training under Michelle Nietert, LPC-S.

As a Counselor, I will walk alongside you through your journey and help guide you through your struggles and conflicts, so that you may reach your full potential to live a healthy life. I believe therapy is teamwork between the client and therapist, working together to find the best solutions to the client’s struggles and conflicts. As a Christian, I believe God created us uniquely, loves us deeply and desires each of His children to seek Him, especially during times of strife and hardship, so we may be made strong.
