Julie is a Licensed Professional Counselor who provides services to children ages 12 and up, as well as adults. She primarily uses a Person Centered approach to counseling. She also emphasizes the use of Solution Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Faith-based counseling is available. Julie works with children, adolescents and adults dealing with a variety of issues including, but not limited to: depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, non-suicidal self-harm, grief, spectrum disorders, divorce/blended family issues, attention deficits, and school refusal.

Education and Training
Julie has a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Master's in School Counseling from Texas A&M-Commerce. Additionally, she is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor. In addition to her work in private practice, she has over 20 years of experience working in the public schools in both elementary and secondary education as a teacher and school counselor.

Background and Experience
I live in McKinney with my husband and 2 almost grown children. We are actively involved in our local church. In my free time, I love to hang out with my 'kids,' take walks with my husband, travel (especially cruising), read, binge watch a good TV show and eat good food. My desire is to help clients make and reach their goals. I am here to walk alongside you as you work through challenging experiences and give you the tools you need to find success.
