Counseling Approach
Cynthia is a Licensed Professional Counselor with extensive experience supporting children, adolescents and young adults across clinical and education settings. With over 15 years working in schools as both a teacher and a school counselor, she brings a specialized understanding of child development, learning differences, and the social-emotional challenges young people face at home and in school. This background allows her to collaborate effectively with families, educators and other professionals to support each child's overall well-being.

Cynthia's counseling approach is warm, relationship focused, holistic, and child/adolescent centered. She strives to create a safe, supportive space where children, adolescents, and young adults feel seen, heard, and valued. Cynthia tailors therapy to meet each client’s unique developmental, emotional, and cultural needs, using strengths-based and evidence-informed practices. She believes meaningful change happens when clients feel empowered, understood, and supported within their relationships and environments. Her goal is to support you in your journey of building emotional awareness, resilience, and healthy coping skills to thrive both now and in the future.

Education and Training
Cynthia earned her bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from University of Texas at Dallas. She earned her master’s in counseling through Texas Tech University. Cynthia is trained in Mental Health First Aid for Adolescents, NOVA (National Organization for Victim Assistance) Crisis Response Training, Trauma Informed Care through the Texas School Safety Center, and is a 5 time grant recipient for Social Emotional Learning Education in Action grants through 2 large, local school districts.

Background and Experience
The last 13 years Cynthia has spent working in a public school setting in education as a teacher and as a school counselor. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults that are experiencing anxiety, OCD symptoms, eating difficulties, ADHD symptoms, emotional outbursts, depression, behavioral difficulties at school and home, grief, family, parent/child, break ups, and relationship issues, life transitions, self-harm, and negative thinking patterns.

Personal Statement
Every human deserves empathy, compassion, and connection. We can’t always control what happens to us, but we can control how we respond, heal, and grow. Sometimes this happens by simply sharing your story in a safe space and other times it takes work. I love hearing people’s stories and seeing them learn how to work through conflict, navigate relationships in healthy ways, and emotionally regulate themselves when things get difficult. Together, we will work towards healing, building resilience, and fostering positive change. I am grateful for the opportunity to support you on your path. Please feel free to reach out to schedule a consultation.
