She sees value in looking at what’s presently going on and identifying practical ways to heal and grow. She believes real change happens when people are equipped with the right tools that help them assess their inner self and therefore respond to life situations better.
In regards to couples counseling, Catherine primary focuses on the Gottman Institute research principals. These principals include identifying individual and couple goals in areas of Conflict Resolution, Communication Skills, Increasing Positivity, and other aspects of the relationship. A focus on these goals will help create a specific treatment program that is more effective and sustainable. Solution-focused, Emotionally-focused, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy is also integrated in sessions.
