Treatment Approaches
Abigail works with clients of all ages who are navigating life transitions, grief, anxiety, stress, family dynamics, parenting, and the challenges that can arise throughout different stages of life. She welcomes individuals who desire counseling and has a passion for working with families. With younger children, Abigail uses play therapy techniques and filial therapy, inviting caregivers more deeply into the process which helps strengthen connection within the family. Abigail primarily operates from a narrative therapy perspective with person-centered techniques to create a space where clients feel heard and known.
Education and Training
Abigail earned a BS in Creative Writing, where she discovered a deeper interest in the stories and experiences of others. She is currently pursuing an MA in Clinical Counseling at Dallas Theological Seminary.
Background and Experience
Abigail is a writer who uses fiction to explore and understand concepts she does not fully understand. In addition to working with clients, Abigail works at an apartment community on a college campus, where she has the opportunity to build community, serve others, and experience the stories of people from various corners of the world. During both opportunities, she values connection, curiosity, and the opportunity to walk alongside others through challenges. Abigail loves playing board games, especially with her two younger brothers. She enjoys learning through personal experience, written word, and simply listening.
Personal Statement
I find purpose in walking alongside people through their stories. There is beauty in life, but life is also complex. At every age, we can encounter challenges, hurt, unknowns, and patterns of moments that feel overwhelming. As a counselor, I hope to meet clients in the chapter they are currently in and walk alongside them as they explore their stories, discover healing, and determine what goals might look like in the chapters ahead.
