Camille specializes in self-harm, teen pregnancy & parenting, post abortion counseling for women, & postpartum depression & anxiety. She counsels children (ages 5+), adolescents, adults, and couples. She has experience in counseling individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, anger, transitions, marital problems, divorce (for parents and for the children), body-focused repetitive behaviors, relational issues, borderline personality, eating disorders, ADD/ADHD, parenting, self-esteem, spiritual issues, and behavioral issues.
Background and Experience
Camille earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Texas A&M International University in 2006. In 2011, she earned her Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary. During her time as a Practicum Student, she worked at Allen High School as a Crisis/Support Counselor Intern. She worked with students in crisis situations, teen parents, students with attendance and behavior issues, and connected students and parents to appropriate community resources.
As a former Cognitive Trainer, she has experience working with children from ages 4-18 and adults (gifted, spectrum, & learning disabilities) on a one-on-one basis while doing activities/games that enhance their cognitive skills. Furthermore, she has experience administering test batteries such as the Woodcock-Johnson, Gray Oral Reading Test, and Gray Silent Reading Test.
Camille is also certified to administer Counselaid (a psychological test, which assesses mental and personality disorders) and certified to teach PREP (a program geared towards married couples, with focus on divorce prevention). In addition, she is also certified in Prepare/Enrich ("one of the most widely used programs for premarital counseling and premarital education. It is also used for marriage counseling, marriage enrichment, and dating couples considering engagement.")
Camille volunteered as a Patient Advocate at Real Options for women, a crisis pregnancy center in Plano. She has experience in dealing with situations, emotions, and struggles that can arise from unplanned pregnancies. She is also aware of the emotional and physical impact of those who have chosen to have an abortion, whether recently or a decade ago, and she has the passion to help post-abortion women as they try to process these feelings.
Camille has been active in her local church ever since she became a Christian at the age of 22. She helped her former home church launch a Celebrate Recovery ministry, served as a sponsor to the ladies in Celebrate Recovery, and served as a mentor to the young ladies in the youth group. Camille and her family are part of the core families involved in planting a church in West Allen, where her husband serves as an Elder and a Pastor. In addition, they are passionate supporters of Compassion International and International Justice Mission.
Camille recently served as a session speaker for DOLLS (Daughters of Our Living Lord and Savior) to educate their student leaders about healthy and biblical conflict resolution.
Personal Statement
I believe that we live in a fallen world. We all struggle with hurt and pain that others inflict and that we inflict ourselves. Even though we can’t control the world around us, we can control how we respond. If dealt with in a healthy way, our struggles can shape us to be a better person. My Christian worldview plays an integral part in my life personally, professionally, emotionally, and spiritually.
Counseling Approach
Since each individual is unique, Camille operates on an Integrative Approach to counseling. Sessions and treatment plans will be based on the client’s best interest. Camille uses Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Adlerian Therapy. Camille incorporates art, music, games, and various activities in her sessions.
Christian Counseling is available upon request.
